Psychosexual Therapy in North London

Specialist, confidential support for individuals working through sexual difficulties

Sex is a fundamental part of who we are, and life unfolds alongside it. For all kinds of reasons, sex doesn't always happen the way we expect or hope it will. This can affect how we feel about ourselves and how we relate to a partner. If this is something you're navigating, psychosexual therapy offers a considered, confidential way through it.

I offer assessment and psychological treatment for lifelong or acquired sexual difficulties, whether persistent or situational. This includes:

  • sexual functioning issues
  • sexual desire difficulties
  • sexual distress linked to psychological factors or physical health conditions such as cancer, diabetes or cardiovascular issues.

Many of the difficulties clients bring to sex therapy sit at the crossroads of the physical and the psychological, and my clinical nursing background means I can hold both sides of that conversation with you.

I work exclusively with adults, on an open-ended basis or for a focused, short-term period, tailored to your circumstances.

Sessions give you the space to explore your psychosexual health, relationship patterns and emotional self-regulation with an impartial, non-judgmental specialist. As a psychosexual therapist I will listen closely, but also gently challenge you to look at the patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back.

Whatever's brought you here, know that you're not alone in it. It's very common for people to feel embarrassed or hesitant to talk about sexual difficulties, even with a partner. But, working with a specialist gives you a private, judgment-free space to be properly understood.

Who this can help

Individual psychosexual therapy tends to suit people who are:

  • Experiencing desire concerns, or a change in sexual response that's causing distress
  • Navigating sexual difficulties connected to anxiety, low confidence, or past experience
  • Adjusting to the impact of a physical health condition or medical treatment on their sex life
  • Wanting a confidential space to understand their own sexual wellbeing, separate from a relationship
  • Looking to build sexual confidence and a stronger relationship with intimacy

What to expect

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, in person or via Microsoft Teams.

This is my proposal, but adjusted as we work along in a collaborative process:

  • 1st session — Assessment
  • 2nd session — Assessment, formulation and treatment plan
  • 3rd session and onward — Ongoing therapy, working through your treatment plan together

Fees - £70 per session

A limited number of low-income places are available for individual psychosexual therapy, for clients with a gross income of up to £40,000/year. These sessions cost £45 each, run for a maximum of 10 weekly sessions in the same weekly slot, and can't be rearranged if missed.

Low-income sessions don't include Saturdays, and there is currently a waiting list, with therapy expected to start around October 2026 for new applications.

Cancellations require 48 hours' notice, or the session fee remains payable. Payment is accepted by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
